Lager Days Homebrew Competition

Lager Days began in 2023 as OBC's first ever competition focused on Lagers (and Central European Ales like Kolsch) only, and is the first in the Pacific Northwest. The inaugural competition saw over 150 entries judged.

Bus trip to Pfriem, Grains of Wrath, 5440
9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Join fellow club members as we tour breweries in the Gorge on both sides of the river. Departing from Portland we will head to Cascade Locks to tour the Pfriem barrel and blending facility. Next, we will cross into WA and tour the Grains of Wrath production facility in Washougal. We will end the day at 54°40′ Beer with Bolt giving us a tour.
Assume beer at the breweries is not free, but we may get tastings. Lunch is included and likely sandwiches. You can bring, purchase, and enjoy beer on the bus during the ride.
Price for members is $55, non member guests are an additional $10.

Heart of Cascadia IPA Competition

Heart of Cascadia began in 2013 as a style competition focused on "Cascadian Dark Ale" and "Northwest Red Ale" - two styles who have taken root in the Pacific Northwest. Now we have expanded to all IPA styles, all the styles in the 2021 guidelines, newer styles defined by commercial trends, and any specialty IPAs you can dream up. If it is recognizable as an IPA in its hopping and overall character we will judge it.
